For plastic waste that can be recycled at our facility, we re-grind waste plastic to produce our Brite-Mat range of products and the Recycled Americano®. Our recycled plastic products can contain up to 100% in-house recycled plastics. For any waste that cannot be reused or recycled internally, we use specialist waste management companies where the waste is turned into energy using an Energy from Waste facility. In 2021 PFUK became FSC® certified for its paper products. All standard paper products produced in the UK will be FSC® certified.

In addition to this, we are a member of the British Plastics Federation, which is the leading trade association for the UK plastics industry. As an ongoing member of their Climate Change Agreement Scheme, there are challenging targets set to reduce our energy consumption each year per kilogram of polymer used in manufacture.

With all of these practices well established, in July 2021 we received ISO 14001 certification for our UK sites to formally recognise our environmental awareness and continued efforts to reduce our impact on the environment.
